How to board and buy tickets
Government SETC buses do not require advance online booking for most services — you can buy your ticket at the Velankanni bus stand (near the shrine complex) on the day of travel. Arrive at the stand 15–20 minutes before the 3:30 PM departure to get a seat, especially on weekends or during the festival season.
SETC has limited seating (~35 seats) and buses can fill up on busy days. If you miss this service or need an earlier departure, private buses also cover this route.
Alternatives if the government bus is full
